Ken Bell – Principal
For 44 years Ken served in a variety of roles with Herschend Family Entertainment, each giving him firsthand experience that even the best education and books can’t provide. Starting as a seasonal employee at Silver Dollar City in Branson, Missouri, Ken worked his way through the ranks to become supervisor, then Special Events Manager, Director of Marketing and Assistant V.P. Having excelled at every position, Dollywood, A new partnership in Tennessee with entertainment legend Dolly Parton, chose Ken to lead the new company as Dollywood’s first General Manager. As the success of the park grew, Ken’s responsibility also grew as he became Sr. V.P and then President of The Dollywood Company.
The Dollywood Entertainment Park was launched in 1986 and made history the first year with record attendance increases of 75 percent to 1.3 million visitors.
Jim Hartley – Principal
In 1991, Jim Hartley established an independent consulting practice in the area of Sales, Marketing and Business Development. His understanding of consumer service markets combined with his ability to understand new, emerging consumer trends has allowed him to become a top consultant in the Theme and Leisure Industry. With over 20 years of sales and business development experience, he has become a proven revenue producer for product developers and services providers alike.
Jim came to the Theme and Leisure Industry from a successful sales and marketing career in the construction industry. Joining Atlanta-based Vistascope Corporation, a large-format film based attraction developer, as Vice President of Sales and Marketing. Key high profile projects include the Pro Football Hall of Fame, the 82nd Airborne Museum, Huang Enterprises and The Nut Tree, a California tourist attraction.
