Jim was hired as Director of Sales at Iwerks Entertainment; a world leader in film based attractions, in 1993 and was tasked to further develop the theme park, tourist attraction and museum markets. While at Iwerks, he worked on projects for Dollywood, Daytona USA, Kevin Costner’s Dunbar Resort and spearheaded the development of a joint venture strategic partnership between Iwerks and Dave & Busters, a publicly held family entertainment company.
After leaving Iwerks in 1996 to re-establish his consulting practice, Jim consulted on projects for Silver Dollar City Corporation. (Now Herschend Family Entertainment), The Yorktown Victory Center and teamed with Imagic Inc. of Atlanta to develop several entertainment and attraction concepts.
In 2001 Jim was hired by Dollywood to produce a new pre-show and film, Smoky Mountain Adventure, for their Simulation Theater. Again catching the amusement bug, he then teamed with Bob Dean to form Leisure Labs LLC, a very successful ride and attraction sales company where he worked with parks and attractions in the U.S., the Middle East and Asia. He retired in 2013 but has not gotten the “fun bug” out of his system so he is again sharing his expertise and knowledge for others to benefit.
